At G&L, we pride ourselves not just on our creativity and quality, but on our organization as well. Our 7-step process is a reliable system upon which all parties involved can rely throughout the life of your project.
Initial Consultation. Our principals will come to your home, sit with you and discuss your project and investment. If you have plans, we will review them so we may understand in greater detail your overall project goals and wish list. We will tour your house, and if necessary, take preliminary measurements.
If you already have a trusted architect and designer, we will work with them to successfully complete your project (please go to step 3).
Design Services. For projects that require architectural or interior design services, we incorporate preferred, seasoned professionals into our team to complete your job with expertise and efficiency. Fees for the design phase vary depending upon the size and scope of your project.
If you need an architect to draw up plans for an addition, a new suite, a whole new floor, or even a whole house remodel, we plan a series of meetings with our architect to come up with a design that meets your needs and fits your budget. The primary benefit of working with our architect is that we can work together to control costs and remain within your budget from the very start. Often, when a homeowner has architectural plans drawn up in advance, they find the cost to build is over their budget, and end up having to start over. We completely eliminate that concern.
If you need design assistance - color selections, fixtures and finishes, tile, hardwood flooring selections, etc. - we pair you up with our experienced interior designer, who will help you make choices that reflect your budget, tastes and lifestyle.
We will set up a meeting to finalize the plans and review the selections before we provide you with an estimate.
Estimate. After G&L and Sons Renovations writes your estimate, we will set up an appointment to present and review your estimate in person. At this time, we will be available to answer any questions you may have about your project or our company.
Team Meetings. Depending upon the project, we will bring our team on site so you can meet with them, discuss the project, and address any potential challenges right up front.
Paperwork. Based
upon your approval, a fixed priced contract will be drawn
up and submitted to you for your signature. Please understand
that there are times when major "unknowns" will be discovered
and require additional work. This work will require us
to write up a change order to spell out what we are planning
to do and how much it will cost. Once the contract is
returned with a deposit, we will officially post your
project in our schedule, and determine an approximate
start time. We will then apply for all the necessary
permits and approvals.
Construction Stages. After permits are in hand, we begin renovation/construction work. You will meet with a G&L project manager or owner on a regular basis to review the project and go over any items or issues that need to be addressed.
Completion & Approval. When construction is completed and our work is done, we seek your final approval by referring us to friends and family. |
