G&L was established in the mid 1980’s with Gene Caputo as a founding partner. The company started out by accepting projects of every description through personal referrals and word of mouth. Under Gene’s careful watch, G&L earned a reputation not solely for elegant, craftsmanlike work, but for a commitment to ensuring that his customers were always completely satisfied.
As the company’s status grew, so did the size of its jobs. For more than two decades, Gene’s honesty, work ethic and dedication to quality have resulted in a firm that even today trades on its good name, referrals from satisfied customers, and repeat business.
In 1993, Chris Caputo joined the company. By this time, G&L was expanding into renovation and home additions work. Projects were getting larger and more intricate, and yet Gene and Chris continued to complete practically all project phases by themselves, except for plumbing and electrical tasks. The company gained in exposure and grew in revenue. All of the work continued to be from word of mouth.
By the late 1990’s, G&L’s jobs grew still larger, and the firm began to operate as a full-service remodeling company. The project teams multiplied, and expanded to include hand-picked experts who shared Gene’s original vision of top-tier quality service and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
In 2003, David Caputo joined the company as a carpenter/bookkeeper, and immediately began positioning G&L for the future. He streamlined and computerized the company’s systems, enhancing its efficiency and its day-to-day operations.
Concurrently, Gene stepped back from day-to-day operations and Chris took the helm, once more expanding our construction team, solidifying business relationships, and earning even greater respect from customers. In 2006, Beth Caputo left the corporate world to serve as G&L’s office manager and administrator, adding an extra layer of professionalism to our services.
